Lots of wine. Embarrassing stories about each other. Some dancing and plenty of good food. These are some of the necessary components of a great girls trip. Being surrounded by your closest girlfriends in a new place and making new memories is truly a special treat. For your next girlfriend’s getaway, branch out from the typical vacation. Expand what it means to spend quality time with your chicas! Take it to the “Rich Coast”, add a little surfing and yoga, and make this vacation that much more memorable.
Costa Rica is the perfect locale for a girls’ trip
In Costa Rica, all the great aspects of a girls trip are available and then some. Between the beaches, the delicious food, the sunny weather, and the Pura Vida mentality, you can be ready to experience some great times. The adventures to be had in a place like Costa Rica are endless. In the Southern Pacific coast (where we are based here at Bodhi Surf + Yoga), our guests get a taste of so much:
- from the sandy beaches of the local Marino Ballena National Park
- to an open-air yoga platform among the trees and the birds
- to a waterfall perfect for thrill-seekers!
3 ways to make it memorable
If it is a unique, memorable girls trip you are after — Costa Rica is the place to be. And without a doubt any quality time spent with the girls you love will be great. Regardless, here are some ideas to make it extra special!
1. Try something new
What better time to try something new than with your very best support squad by your side! Learning a new skill — especially when it comes to surfing and yoga — can be a challenging experience. Doing it as a group while cheering each other on and laughing at each other’s wipeouts can take some of the pressure off. Whether it is finally trying a headstand in yoga or catching an unbroken green wave while surfing, having your friends right there with you is incredibly empowering. It allows us to take risks, be braver, and feel at ease. We recently hosted an all-women’s retreat here at Bodhi Surf + Yoga which had the catchphrase “Be Dareful”. It was a fun-filled week of women encouraging each other to be daring and brave while growing and learning new skills. On your next girls trip, try something new and go out of your comfort zone!
2. Unplug and unwind
A bachelorette weekend, a college reunion, or just an excuse to catch up on girl time — a girlfriends getaway to Costa Rica is the perfect place to unplug, unwind, and live the Pura Vida. With plenty of adventure and activity, a girls trip at Bodhi Surf + Yoga is a wonderful way to reconnect to the amigas you love. We encourage all our guests to minimize time spent on devices because we think that a week (or two!) at Bodhi Surf + Yoga is best enjoyed when fully present and tuned in. A girlfriends’ getaway is all about quality time spent together making new memories and reminiscing on old ones. Being able to truly unplug in a place like Costa Rica is sure to bring lots of good stories. Whether it is relaxation or adventure you and your girlfriends are after, sometimes we have to disconnect to truly connect to the place we are and the wonderful people we are with.
3. Explore the great outdoors
Costa Rica is famous for its breathtaking jungles, mountains, and beaches. In fact, the Osa Peninsula (just a few miles south of Bodhi Surf + Yoga) was named “the most biologically intense place on Earth” by National Geographic. It is home to 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity but only takes up 0.0001% of its surface area. Costa Rica is a great place to go with the girls and get outside to explore. No matter if your girlfriends want beach chilling, waterfall swimming, mountain hiking, or jungle exploring — Costa Rica has it all. Our town of Bahia Ballena is known as the place “where the jungle meets the sea,” and a week at Bodhi Surf + Yoga means spending lots of time outside in the sunshine. In fact, between daily surf lessons, yoga classes on our open air platform, and time spent at the local waterfall — guests spend most of their waking hours outside! Time spent in nature with your best girlfriends is time well spent.
Squad goals — at Bodhi Surf + Yoga!
We’ve got passionate and patient surf instructors, mentally and physically energizing yoga classes, fresh drinks, great food, and a welcoming team. Bring the girls and come see what we are all about at Bodhi Surf + Yoga.
